Police searching for man who fired a gun in Myrtle Beach Sunday

Myrtle Beach police are searching for a man who fired multiple gun shots on Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened about 2:40 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of 6th Avenue.

Witnesses told police that a black male and a white female were walking on 6th Avenue arguing.

The altercation got physical and the man fired two shots in the air, according to the police report.

The man then fled on foot westbound on 6th Avenue and then southbound on Chester Street.

The female also took off and ran behind a building that is under construction.

According to the report, officers found two shell casings in front of the building where the female ran behind.

Officers reviewed city cameras at the location and can see the couple arguing, however, they lose site of the suspect when he shoots the gun.
