Conway hotel robbed, employee assaulted

A Conway hotel employee was assaulted and robbed after a man came in and asked for change for a dollar.

Conway Police were called about 10:30 p.m. May 2 to the Conway Express Inn at 1240 Pine Street in reference to a strong armed robbery, according to a police report.

The victim told police that a man came in and asked if the victim had change for a dollar. The victim told the suspect that he didn’t have change, and the suspect left, but came back a short time later, police said.

The suspect struck the victim, pushed him aside, and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register then fled the area on a bicycle, authorities said.

Police canvassed the area for the suspect, but didn’t find him, according to the report.
