One in custody after manhunt around River Landing Apartments

A traffic stop that led to a manhunt ended with one person in custody in Horry County.

It started just before 11 p.m. Thursday off of 501 by the River Landing Apartments near Myrtle Beach.

South Carolina troopers on scene said it started when a person fled from their vehicle after being pulled over during a traffic stop on Waccamaw Dr.

Authorities said they searched for possible suspects around Waccamaw Dr., River Landing Blvd and River Oaks Dr.

One suspect was found near the area just before 1 a.m. Friday, according to Horry County police on scene. That person was taken into custody.

Horry County police assisted the South Carolina Highway Patrol in the manhunt.
