A man was arrested in connection with first-degree domestic assault after a fight erupted between the man and his girlfriend while the two were in the shower, authorities said.
Douglas Allen Brown, 31, is charged with domestic violence/ first-degree great bodily injury and malicious injury, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.
Officers were called about 3:55 p.m. Tuesday to an apartment unit at a building on the 300 block of First Avenue North in Myrtle Beach where a 31-year-old woman reported the attack, police said.
The victim told police she was taking a shower with Brown at the home when an argument began in the shower and then turned physical. She said Brown put his hands around her throat, making it difficult for her to breathe, according to the police report.
She said Brown also bit her nose, and police noted the victim had a bloody wound on her nose.
While in the shower, the victim said Brown also punched the wall next to her head, causing damage.
Brown allegedly continued to assault the victim through the living room after the two got out of the shower, authorities said.
A man, identified as a second victim in the police report, told officers he saw Brown hitting the victim while they were in the living room.
The victim told police her and Brown have been in a relationship for years. She said the two are homeless and sleep behind a bush, the report states.
Brown is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail on $781 bond on the malicious injury charge, but his bond was not set on the domestic violence charge, according to records.
