Cash stolen from Day of the Dead shrines as man held at gunpoint

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a home intrusion and robbery.

Police were called to the 6600 block of Ocean Boulevard Tuesday night about 11:20 p.m.

According to the police report, the victim was sleeping when he was awakened by a loud noise and heard someone walking up the stairs.

The victim told police he went to see what the noise was when a black male pointed a gun at him, asked him to get on his knees and demanded money.

The suspect then grabbed cash from the victim’s Day of the Dead Virgin Mary skull shrines, according to the report.

The suspect then ran from the residence.
