Conway checkpoint nets two drug arrests

Two men were arrested in connection with drug possession and trafficking at a Conway police safety checkpoint Thursday night.

Michale Levoris Moore, 26, and Donavon Curtis Johnson, 23, both of Conway were stopped about 7 p.m. at a public safety checkpoint in the area of Racepath Street and Thompson Street, and an investigation led to their arrests, Lt. Selena Small, with Conway police said.

Moore and Johnson are each charged with trafficking heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of Schedule IV narcotics, and possession of cocaine, Small said.

Johnson is also charged with failure to appear and giving false information to law enforcement, according to jail records. He is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $66,127.

Moore was released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $65,445, jail records show.
