Teen robbed, assaulted by group while walking on Ocean Boulevard
A 19-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of jewelry, a cellphone and cash after four men approached him while he was walking on Ocean Boulevard near the Myrtle Beach Skywheel.
Myrtle Beach officers were called about 12 a.m. Monday to 1400 N. Ocean Blvd. in reference to a strong arm robbery, police said.
The victim told police he was walking to a hotel when he noticed four men walking behind him. One of the men in the group shouted “aye,” getting the victim’s attention, authorities said.
The group approached the victim and told him to “come up off everything he got,” and the victim said “No, I am not giving nothing,” according to a police report.
The victim said he was then punched in the face by one of the men and then gave the group two gold necklaces, a iPhone 5S, sunglasses and $15, police said.
The victim then went to his hotel and called police.
Authorities noted in the police report that the investigation is ongoing.
