Update: Conway police make arrest after victim injured in shooting
A 30-year-old man was arrested after a gunshot victim was found in the area of Grainger Road in Conway Friday night after being injured.
Ronnie Atkinson of Conway was arrested late Friday night and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in connection with the shooting, along with failure to appear, Lt. Selena Small with Conway police said.
Police responded about 8:06 p.m. to the 1100 block of Grainger Road in reference to a gunshot victim, authorities said.
The victim walked there after being injured, and the exact location where the shooting happened is unknown, police said. The victim was conscious when found by police and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Atkinson is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $31,313.25 bond, jail records show.
