Horry County police investigating after man seen trying to talk to children

A man in a gray car was reportedly seen trying to talk to young children Wednesday off Gardner Lacy Road, and Horry County police are investigating the incidents.

Police received two calls Wednesday about a white man with a military-style haircut in a gray Audi with dark-tinted windows attempting to talk to children in the areas of Belleglen Court and Innisbrook Court, both off Gardner Lacy Road, which is sandwiched between Carolina Forest and the Coastal Carolina University area.

Horry County police made several attempts to find the car, but were unable to locate it.

Because the car has not been found, authorities don’t know for certain that the man described is a suspect or that the incidents occurred as reported, and officers will be patrolling the area on Thursday, police said.
