Police: Laundromat employee closes laundry, robbed in parking lot

Myrtle Beach Police are investigating a robbery outside a laundromat in the 1100 block of 3rd Avenue South.

The incident happened about 10 p.m. Sunday as the laundromat employee closed the business and walked to her car.

As she opened her car door, the suspect approached her from behind.

According to the police report, the suspect then tried to push the victim into the car.

The victim attempted to fight off the suspect by elbowing him and hitting the car horn.

The suspect was able to grab the victim’s purse and took off on foot, according to a the victim’s statement in the police report.

The victim described the suspect as a black male in his mid 20’s to 30’s, approximately 5’07” or 5’08,” he had a earring in his left ear and was wearing a black and white sweater, dark color jeans.
