Authorities arrested two Georgetown men in connection with drug charges, including trafficking heroin.

Malcolm Cromedy, 39, was arrested Thursday and is charged with two counts of trafficking heroin, third offense; distribution of heroin, second offense; possession of marijuana, second or subsequent offense; driving under suspension, third offense, and being a habitual traffic offender, police said.

Kneshon Pino, 28, was arrested Wednesday and is charged with trafficking heroin, third offense; distribution of heroin, third-offense; possession with intent to distribute crack and marijuana, third offense; distributing controlled substances within a half mile of a school or park; driving under suspension, seventh offense, and being a habitual traffic offender, along with two active Georgetown County bench warrants, authorities said.

Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgetown Police Department arrested the two men as part of their increased emphasis on heroin-related drug distribution, according to Carrie Weaver, GCSO spokeswoman.

Both men were labeled as “significant” drug dealers, Weaver said.

Prior to Cromedy’s arrest, agents conducted several street level surveillance operations, and said they saw Cromedy driving a vehicle and engaged in suspicious activity in Georgetown. Agents found him to be driving under suspension with a quantity of marijuana in his lap and a “significant” amount of heroin, along with digital scales, cutting agents, and packaging materials, Weaver said.

Pino, also known as “Squirrel,” was picked up after agents conducted street level surveillance operations on Liberty Street within the city limits of Georgetown and said they saw him engaged in a drug transaction.

He was recognized by police as someone who had an active drug distribution arrest warrant. Agents approached and ultimately arrested him.

Pino was found to have a significant quantity of heroin with a street value of about $2,000, more than a pound of marijuana, crack, cash, digital scales, and packaging materials.

Pino was released from the Georgetown County Detention Center Friday on $79,408.75 bond, jail records show.

Collin Todd Blythe, 49, was also arrested on Wednesday, and he is charged with distributing pills as well as distributing them within half mile of McDonald Elementary School and possession of marijuana, second offense, authorities said.
