A Georgetown man was arrested in connection with distributing drugs near a school after authorities served a search warrant Wednesday.

Collin Todd Blythe, 49, is charged with distributing Schedule II pills, which are controlled substance narcotics, as well as distributing them within half mile of the McDonald Elementary School and possession of marijuana, second offense, authorities said.

Agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on McDonald Road in Georgetown and made multiple arrests, according to Carrie Weaver, GCSO spokeswoman.

Agents served the warrant after responding to a number of resident complaints, including increased traffic, suspicious activity and possible drug sales at the home on McDonald Road, Weaver said.

Authorities said they were quickly able to establish Blythe as the dealer and obtained arrest warrants for him and a search warrant for the home, according to the release.

Blythe was then transported to the Georgetown County Detention Center where he is being held on $15,000 bond.
