Man robbed at gunpoint in restaurant parking lot
A 26-year-old man was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint of more than $400 after two men approached him in a Myrtle Beach restaurant parking lot.
Officers were called about 9 p.m. Friday to the 900 block of Broadway Street where the victim reported the incident, which he said happened in the parking lot of the Golden Corral on Oak Forest Lane, authorities said.
The victim told police he ate dinner at the restaurant then left his mo-ped in the parking lot and walked to Wal-Mart. When he returned to his mo-ped, he saw two men dressed in all black standing beside it, police said.
When the victim walked up to his mo-ped, the men came up to him and demanded his money. One man then brandished a handgun and another punched the victim in the face, according to a police report.
The victim said the men assaulted him before they made off with $410 and the victim’s backpack.
The victim then left the area and called police to report the incident.
