A 33-year-old woman was arrested in connection with being an accessory after the fact in a murder, involving a hired gunman, in 2015 at Club Levelz, which closed shortly thereafter, police said.

Tiffany Miranda Taylor, 33, of Kingstree is charged with accessory after the fact to felony class A, B, C or murder, jail records show.

Myrtle Beach police responded about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 15, 2015 to a call of shots fired at Club Levelz, located at 515 Ninth Ave. N. and found 23-year-old Saequan Vereen had been gunned down and killed.

Kevin Tyrone Bryant, 29, was charged in connection with Vereen’s murder on Feb. 18, 2015, according to records.

Robbie Lee Bufkin, 33, of Loris was charged March 28, 2015 with murder, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a pistol, and other drug charges, jail records show.

Arrest warrants released March 30, 2015 stated Bufkin “offered money for the murder of the victim, did hire Bryant to commit the murder, and was instrumental in planning the execution-style murder.”

Through an investigation, police found Bryant waited for the victim outside the nightclub by crouching between two cars, authorities said. When Vereen exited the club, Bryant jumped out and shot at Vereen multiple times, police said.

Witnesses told police that after Vereen was shot, Bryant was shot by security guards hired by club management, Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby said at the time of the shooting. Bryant was detained by security guards and taken to the hospital.

Before the shooting, the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s office had been asked by Myrtle Beach police to serve a notice of abatement to club owners about the club being a public nuisance after authorities were repeatedly called there, 15th Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said after the shooting.

The abatement notice gave the club owners 10 days to bring the club up to the specifications authorities asked for before officials would file a civil motion to close the club, Richardson said.

That civil motion came on Feb. 20, ahead of the 10-day period, after authorities learned that an event was planned at the club that weekend to honor Vereen, officials said.

Taylor is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on $250,000 bond, records show.
