Driver injures 4 people in 2 separate North Myrtle Beach car crashes
Five people were taken to the hospital after two separate car accidents in North Myrtle Beach.
North Myrtle Beach responded to a report of a vehicle that backed into another vehicle twice and drove away around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to city spokesman Pat Dowling. The accident happened near 48th Avenue South and the driver fled north on Highway 17 at a “high rate of speed,” Dowling said.
The same driver hit another vehicle in the area of 800 Avenue North on Highway 17, Dowling said.
The driver and four other people were taken to the hospital with injuries, he said.
A third car may have been involved with the second accident but fled the scene, Dowling said. No public safety personnel were injured during either incident, he said.
Police are still investigating and more information will be released when the police report is available, Dowling said.
