Man reports being robbed by knife-wielding bicyclist

A 35-year-old man told police that a man rode up to him on a bicycle while he was walking down Ocean Boulevard, pointed a knife at him, and robbed him of $80, according to an incident report.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Ocean Boulevard South, and then met with the victim at the 100th block of Ocean Boulevard South where he reported the incident, police said.

The victim said that he left his hotel to go on a walk with his 24-year-old friend who witnessed the alleged robbery. The victim said the suspect rode up on a bicycle, pulled out a red-and-green knife, and told the victim to empty his pockets, authorities said.

The victim said he gave the suspect $80, and the suspect left the area headed southbound on the bicycle, police said.

No arrests were made by Wednesday morning.
