Police investigating stabbing at Myrtle Beach apartments
Myrtle Beach police are investigating after a 28-year-old man went to the hospital with a stab wound after an incident on Cedar Street.
Officers were called about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday to South Strand Hospital after hospital staff called police about the victim’s stab wound, according to an incident report.
The victim told police that about 11:45 p.m. Monday, he left his Cedar Street apartment and walked to a nearby gas station for cigarettes and a few other items.
He was standing outside his building after walking to the store when a man approached him and said, “Drop your stuff,” according to the report.
The victim said he tried to defend himself by punching the suspect and said another suspect stabbed him in the chest.
Both men ran after stabbing the victim, and he then drove himself to the hospital for treatment, police said.
No arrests were made by Tuesday morning.
