Man charged with sexually assaulting underage girl

A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with sexually assaulting an underage girl in Myrtle Beach.

Jose Atzin-Martinez, whose hometown was not listed, is charged with first-degree sex/ criminal sexual conduct with a minor, victim under 11 and third-degree domestic violence, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.

A Myrtle Beach police detective received a fax from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19 after an underage girl, whose age was not listed, told school officials about assaults that reportedly happened from 2006 to 2009 in Myrtle Beach, according to a police report.

No further details on the alleged assaults were available in the police report.

Atzin-Martinez was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Thursday and his bond had not been set on the charges by Friday morning, according to records.
