One person injured after Conway shooting

Conway police are investigating after a 45-year-old man was shot in the leg Thursday night on Ninth Avenue.

Officers were called about 7:30 p.m. to the 2200 block of Ninth Avenue where they found the victim sitting in a chair in the front yard of a home with a gunshot wound in his left leg, authorities said.

The victim was walking down the street when an unknown person in a vehicle shot him in the leg, Lt. Reggie Hill with the Conway Police Department said.

Police gathered names of potential witnesses and found shell casings on Melson Street, which is near Ninth Avenue, according to a police report.

The investigation is ongoing, and police were still searching for a suspect Friday morning.
