Galivants Ferry woman charged with defrauding S.C. Educational Lottery

A Galivants Ferry store clerk was charged with defrauding the S.C. lottery after scanning winning tickets without paying for them.

Tina Seidel Stottlemyer, 39, of Galivants Ferry is charged with attempting to defraud the S.C. lottery. Stottlemyer is accused of stealing $300 of PayDay lottery tickets.

Horry County police responded to a larceny report at Dog Bluff Handy Mart located at 1810 Jordanville Rd., Galivants Ferry. A store manager told police Stottlemyer was ordering PayDay lottery tickets and not adding them to the lottery system, according to a police report.

The employee said Stottlemyer would scan winning lottery tickets and pay herself, the report said. Surveillance video showed Stottlemyer scanning lottery tickets without anyone in the store and putting money into her purse.

The store manager noticed the larceny after inventory showed missing lottery money, the report said. The manager told police there was $11,580 in lottery tickets stolen from the store since Dec. 1, the report said.

Stottlemyer was released from J. Rueben Detention Center on a $2,500 bond, according to jail records.
