Conway man arrested on charges of criminal sexual conduct

Horry County police arrested a man on charges of criminal sexual conduct.

Police arrested Marco Antonio Lopez, 22, of Conway on Friday, December 26 in the 5700 block of Chester Lane in Conway.

According to the police report, an 18-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by Lopez.

The victim, who is an acquaintance of Lopez, told police she was sleeping on the couch when he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Lopez admitted to his father that he was intoxicated and sexually assaulted the victim, according to the police report.

The victim was transported to Grand Strand Hospital for medical treatment.

Following an investigation by an HCPD detective, Lopez was charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.
