Victim identified in fatal Myrtle Beach crash

The victim of a fatal crash in Myrtle Beach Saturday night has been identified as 70-year-old Carolyn Hicks of Knoxville, Tenn.

Myrtle Beach police responded to the scene of a two-car collision near the intersection of 27th Avenue North and North Kings Highway around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Hicks was transported to Grand Strand Hospital where she died of trauma from the wreck at 9:16 p.m., according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Myrtle Beach police arrested 33-year-old Paulino Maceda Meza Saturday night, charging Meza with felony driving under the influence, causing death.
