MBPD: Intoxicated man beaten robbed by two suspects near Kings Highway
A 39-year-old intoxicated man told Myrtle Beach police he was beaten and robbed of his wallet and cellphone by two men near Kings Highway.
Officers were called about 2:30 a.m. Friday to 38th Avenue North and Kings Highway where a man who was “grossly intoxicated” told police he was jumped from behind by two men who assaulted him, according to the police report.
The victim said he was walking to a restaurant from a bar and was near North Kings Highway when he was thrown to the ground and kicked in the ribs. During the assault, the suspect allegedly took the victim’s wallet, which contained $145, his driver’s license, social security card, and credit card, police said.
The victim said his cellphone was also taken during the incident. Police searched the area for the suspects based on descriptions provided, but didn’t find them, authorities said.
No arrests had been made by later Friday morning.
