Update: Five arrested after meth lab found at Myrtle Beach motel

Myrtle Beach police arrested five people following the discovery of an active meth lab at the Diplomat Motel on Ocean Boulevard.

Officers were called about 8 p.m. Sunday to the motel at 608 North Ocean Blvd. after getting a narcotics complaint, according to an arrest warrant.

Police obtained a search warrant and found “one pot,” which was not actively cooking, but did contain a substance that tested positive as methamphetamine. Items used in the making off methamphetamine were found, including: lighter fluid, lithium batteries, pseudoephederine, a gas generator, coffee filters and other things were also found, warrants stated.

Authorities also found crack cocaine in a camouflage backpack during the search. Black tar heroin was in plain view, and a syringe containing heroin was discovered under the bed, police said.

Those arrested at the motel were:

James Kenneth Goodenow was charged with possession of crack cocaine 1st offense, possession of heroin 1st offense, manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Michael Ira Thomas was charged with possession of crack 3rd offense, possession of heroin 2nd offense, manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Brittney Nicole Mcnemar was charged with possession of crack cocaine 1st offense, possession of heroin 1st offense, manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Barry Ryan Holland was charged with possession of crack 2nd offense, possession of heroin 2nd offense, manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.

Destiney Nora Bergmann was charged with possession of crack cocaine 1st offense, possession of heroin 1st offense, manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking methamphetamine.
