Man arrested on drug charges after reporting robbery
A 67-year-old man was arrested on drug charges after he reported being robbed of cash after inviting a man he met to his home to smoke marijuana, police said.
Myrtle Beach police were called about 9 p.m. Friday to a home on the 400 block of 76th Avenue North where a strong arm robbery was reported.
The victim told police he left a bar after having several drinks and went for a walk near Beach Drive and 77th Avenue North, authorities said.
A man with a “buzz cut” in a white pickup pulled up and asked the victim if he had any marijuana, according to the police report.
The victim told the man he had marijuana at his home, and the man gave him a ride back there, police said.
The victim invited the suspect inside his home and was preparing marijuana to be smoked when the suspect asked him for money, according to the report.
The victim said he refused to give the suspect any money, and the suspect pushed him, grabbed $70 off a table, and ran out of the victim’s home, police said.
Warren Stoke Cromley is charged with possession of marijuana, drugs / unlawful to advertise for sale, manufacture, possess, and loitering for purposes of drug trafficking, according to Myrtle Beach Jail records.
Cromley is being held on $882 bond at the Myrtle Beach Jail.
No arrests have been made in connection with the alleged robbery. Officers noted in the report the investigation is ongoing.
