A man is facing two felony counts of DUI for a wreck that killed two on a moped in Florence County early Sunday.
A man is facing two felony counts of DUI for a wreck that killed two on a moped in Florence County early Sunday.

A man accused of crashing into a moped in Florence County and then fleeing the scene of the collision that killed both of the moped’s riders is facing felonies.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the collision happened around 5:45 a.m. Sunday on Oliver Road in Timmonsville.

Troopers say a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling south on Oliver Road when it struck a moped also traveling south with two riders on board. The moped’s passengers have been identified as 47-year-old Jerome Green and 32-year-old Tameika McLean, both of Effingham.

Green and McLean died in the collision, according to the Highway Patrol.

Cpl. Sunny Collins said the driver of the Trailblazer was charged with two felony counts of driving under the influence resulting in death and leaving the scene of a crash involving death. The driver was identified as 26-year-old Henry McKenzie, who was being held at the Florence County Detention Center.
