Georgetown authorities are continuing to search for two missing men after a woman was shot in the back earlier in October, authorities said.

Herbert Antonio Deas, 30, of Georgetown is wanted by the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, and Alphonso Alston, 25, is reportedly missing, police said.

Georgetown County sheriff’s deputies were first called about the incident around 11:30 p.m. Oct. 11 to Georgetown Memorial Hospital for the report of a gunshot wound victim, authorities said.

After investigating, sheriff’s deputies determined the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Alphonso Alston III, went to the female victim’s home on the 200 block of Siau Lane in the Sampit Community of Georgetown County and realized a male acquaintance of the victim, Herbert Antonio Deas, was there, according to a press release from Carrie Cuthbertson Weaver, Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

An altercation occurred between Alston and the victim during which Deas fired one shot, intending to harm Alston, but struck the victim in the back instead, according to police reports.

Family members reported missing Alston missing on Monday. The 25-year-old was last seen leaving the victim’s residence on foot wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, Cuthbertson Weaver said.

Deas was also last seen at the incident location, police said. His last known address was Siau Lane in Georgetown.
