Myrtle Beach police are searching for a man who allegedly threatened to use a destructive device at Damon’s Restaurant, authorities said.

Christopher Steven ‘Stevie’ Butler, 36, is being sought by police after he reportedly called Damon’s Restaurant on Sept. 18 and said, “I’m about to blow the place…,” according to a Myrtle Beach police report.

The suspect went on to say restaurant workers could thank his ex-girlfriend, who works there, authorities said.

Police went to investigate at the restaurant after the call was made and spoke with a 56-year-old manager who said a 61-year-old female employee received the call about 3:05 p.m. from a blocked number, according to the report.

The employee didn’t know who called, but thought of an incident that happened Aug. 13 involving Butler harassing his ex-girlfriend there, police said.

Butler allegedly fired a weapon near the property in that incident and was arrested, authorities said.

The ex-girlfriend filed a restraining order following the incident, police said.

Butler has a lengthy background for violent tendencies, according to the report.

Anyone with information as to Butler’s whereabouts can call the Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1382 and reference incident 15-021147.
