MBPD: Out-of-state fugitive with needle hidden in bra found in store parking lot
A woman wanted in Virginia in connection with felony credit card forgery charges was arrested in the Wal-Mart parking lot Tuesday, and police said they found a single syringe in the suspect’s bra.
Karla Michele Kinsley, 28, is charged with resisting arrest and being a fugitive, according to J. Reuben Long jail records.
Myrtle Beach police were called about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to Wal-Mart on Seaboard Street in reference to a wanted person, authorities said.
Kinsley initially gave police a false name, but after a few minutes she gave officers her correct information, police said.
After running her name through police information systems, authorities determined Kinsley was wanted by the Roanoke County Police Department in Virginia. Kinsley was wanted in connection with failure to comply with court order on two felony charges of credit card forgeries, a felony charge of credit card fraud, and attempted credit card fraud, according to a police report.
During a routine search, Kinsley revealed a single syringe in her bra, which contained a black substance, authorities said.
Police tested the substance for heroin, but the test didn’t yield positive results, police said.
Kinsley is currently being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, and her bond was not set as Wednesday morning.
