Horry County police seeking suspects after man assaulted by group outside bar
A man told Horry County police a group of men beat him and hit him in the face with a gun outside a Myrtle Beach bar Friday night.
A suspect also pointed a gun at a woman who was with the victim, and fired shots at her car as she drove away, authorities said.
Officers were called about 4 a.m. Friday to a home on the 220 block of Castle Drive where a 21-year-old man reported the incident. He said it happened at Remedies Bar at 4803 U.S. 17 Bypass, police said. The bar has put out a statement on Facebook denying the incident happened on their property.
The victim told police he was leaving the bar with a 21-year-old woman when a man known as “Kilo” confronted him about an issue between a friend of his and the suspect.
The man told police “Kilo,” along with five to six other men then assaulted him. The victim told police he was able to get to his vehicle during the altercation and told the woman with him to meet him at his house, police said.
The woman told police the suspect and group of other men jumped the male victim and hit him in the face with a pistol, but didn’t fire the gun. The woman said after she left the bar, the suspect stopped her, walked up to her vehicle, smashed her windshield and pointed a gun at her, police said.
She said he shot at her vehicle as she drove away, but didn’t hit her vehicle. Police said the male victim refused medical treatment for cuts on his face, and the female victim was unharmed.
