Police investigating after Conway Dollar General robbed Friday night
Horry County police are investigating a weekend armed robbery at a Conway Dollar General store on S.C. 905, authorities said.
Officers were called about 8 p.m. Friday to a Dollar General at 2410 S.C. 905 where two female victims reported the incident.
Police said there were three people present when a male suspect, who had his face covered, entered the store wearing a black hoodie.
Authorities said the suspect was wearing gloves when he brandished an unknown type of rifle in one hand, which police said he held close to his body, only exposing a small gun barrel.
When one of the victims saw the suspect she said she was standing near the cash registers at the front of the store. She then went to another victim, who was working the register, and told her to open the cash drawer before the “softly spoken” suspect made his demands, according a police report.
The victim working at the cash register then placed money from the drawer inside a store bag, and the suspect then demanded the cash be put inside what the victims said looked like a cut pillow case that he brought with him, authorities said.
Police said the suspect ordered one of the victims to dump change from the register inside his bag also.
Authorities said the suspect then left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Police checked the area when they arrived, but didn’t find the suspect.
No arrests were made in connection with the incident as of Tuesday morning.
Police said they were obtaining store surveillance of the incident.
