Three charged with attempted murder after Conway police chase

Conway police charged three people with murder Thursday after a victim reported being shot at from a vehicle.

Bruce Altenburger, 26, of Conway is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, failure to stop for blue lights, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic, according to Lt. Selena Small with Conway police.

Altenburger has been arrested twice before in 2015, according to jail records. He is being held at J. Reuben Detention Center on a $70,000 bond, according to jail records.

Elijah Felder II, 21, of Conway is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic, Small said.

Felder is being on a $57,100 bond, according to jail records.

Dishan Baker, 24, of Conway, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and schedule II narcotic, Small said.

Baker is being held on a $51,445 bond, according to jail records.

The victim told police they were driving behind the suspects’ vehicle on Powell Street when the suspects opened fire on the victim’s vehicle, according to a police report. Once officers located the suspects’ vehicle they tried to initiate a stop, but the suspects fled “in a reckless manner” down Lewis Street, police said.

The suspects fled until the front passenger bailed from the car and he was arrested after a short search, the report said. Police found a semi-automatic handgun where the passenger bailed from the car, police said.

Police followed the remaining two suspects down several streets until the suspects’ car was partially disabled, the report said. Both suspects bailed from the vehicle and the driver was caught by police after a short foot chase, police said.

The car’s rear passenger escaped but was later arrested at 1516 Grainger Road in Conway and arrested, the report said.
