Conway authorities looking for suspect after overnight police chase, two arrested
Conway police are looking for a suspect after arresting two people following an overnight police chase.
Authorities said a witness called them early Thursday morning while following a vehicle after the occupants were reported to have been involved in a car break-in in Horry County.
The witness tailing the suspect’s vehicle said shots had been fired at him by the vehicle occupants, police said.
Conway police found the suspect vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle kept going, authorities said.
During the police pursuit, a suspect jumped out of the car near the intersection of Smith Street and Fifth Avenue in Conway and was arrested, police said.
The vehicle traveled a short distance ahead before two other suspects jumped out allegedly ran from the scene, authorities said.
Police caught up with one suspect, but officers are still searching for a third.
Authorities said they found a weapon nearby where one suspect was arrested and said drugs were found in the suspects’ vehicle.

The names of those arrested have not yet been released by authorities.
