Two women are charged with attempted murder after attempting to rob a Loris man earlier this month.

Sabrina Alford, 21, of Conway, was arrested Sept. 22 and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Lt. Raul Denis with Horry County police.

Kimberly Hathway, 26, of Conway, was arrested Wednesday and also charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Denis said.

Alford has a bond of $40,000 but both suspects remain jailed at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Officers responded to an armed robbery and shooting at a residence on McNabb Shortcut Road in Loris about 4 a.m. Sept. 20, Denis said. The victim told officers he had been cut after a fight with multiple suspects, Denis said.

The victim told police the suspect came to his home to borrow money, but instead tried to steal the victim’s wallet. Both suspects fired guns inside the home during the robbery attempt but nobody was hurt, Denis said.

The suspect fled and the victim called police. Police are still investigating the incident.

Hathway’s photo was not available on the jail’s website.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police at 843-915-8477.
