Police arrest suspect in Surfside Beach armed robbery

A suspect is behind bars following an early morning robbery.

About 1:05 a.m. Monday, Surfside Beach police officers were called to the Kangaroo at 501 U.S. 17 Business for a reported armed robbery.

According to a press release from the Surfside Beach Police Department, the suspect allegedly entered the store and confronted the clerk. The suspect then fled on foot with cash.

SBPD and the Horry County Police Department investigated and identified the suspect. Police arrested Octavious Donte Bostick, 21, at his residence in Surfside Beach.

Bostick is being held on a $5,000 bond at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
