Horry County Police: Man walks in on burglary and is shot

Horry County police are investigating a shooting and burglary in Little River.

About 1 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 4100 block of Pine Drive for a shooting.

When police arrived they found a 71-year-old male who had suffered a gun shot wound.

The homeowner told police that she and the victim had been to lunch. When they returned home, she noticed items out of place, so the victim was inspecting the home.

According to the police report, the victim encountered two suspects hiding and one of the suspects allegedly shot the 71-year-old.

Police have arrested two 15-year-olds, who are awaiting charges of burglary and attempted murder.

At last check, the victim was in critical condition.
