A North Myrtle Beach man is being sought by police after authorities said he took a television from a home and pawned it.

Jerod Lee Kernen, 31, is wanted on two outstanding burglary warrants and petit larceny, according to Pat Dowling, North Myrtle Beach city spokesman.

Authorities said that on Sept. 10 Kernen went to the victim’s house while he was away at work and took a 39-inch Insignia-brand television, valued at $300.

Police said that Kernen then pawned the television at a pawn shop at 2905 U.S. 17 in Atlantic Beach the same day.

Authorities spoke with Kernen on Sept. 16 and he denied any knowledge and involvement in the incident, police said.

Police checked Kernen’s background and said he has three prior burglary convictions, according to a warrant request.

Anyone with information is asked to call the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety at 843-280-5511.
