Man robbed by suspect who goes by the nickname “Murder”

Myrtle Beach police are investigating a reported robbery in the 1400 block of Dunbar Street.

Shortly after Midnight Monday, the victim went to the Myrtle Beach Police Department and told police he had just been robbed.

The victim said he had an argument with his girlfriend around 10 p.m. Sunday and they broke up. However, she called him at 11 p.m. and asked if they could talk, according to the police report.

The victim said he met her on Dunbar Street and she gave him a hug. As she was hugging him, she tried to hold his arms down and a man came up behind him and held a gun to his back and said, “Don’t move,” according to the report.

The victim went on to say that the suspect went into his pockets and took $425 and his phone.

The suspect fled and his ex-girlfriend got into a dark blue SUV and fled, according to the report.

The victim says he didn’t see the suspect’s face, but witnesses told him the man goes by the nickname “Murder.”

According to the report, police talked with the ex-girlfriend and she claims she was not involved and had not seen the vicitm since they broke up.
