Myrtle Beach police are searching for multiple suspects after a shooting happened late Wednesday night at beachwear store, according to a police report.

Authorities were called about 11:30 p.m. to Eagles Beachwear at 1900 N. Kings Highway and said they found a 61-year-old man inside a vehicle who had suffered a gunshot wound.

Sgt. Dorio with Myrtle Beach police could not say where on his body the victim was shot and said the injury was not life-threatening, and the victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

According to another police report, authorities saw a suspicious vehicle near the scene at 11:36 p.m. and said they thought there could be a connection between the suspect inside and the shooting incident.

When police came up to the vehicle, the suspect tried to leave, but the car was in neutral. Police said they asked the suspect to put the car in park, but the suspect put the car in drive and took off at high speed and disregarded other traffic laws.

Police said they are seeking warrants in connection with traffic violations at this time and investigating further.
