Myrtle Beach police find components of a meth lab at motel

Myrtle Beach police are investigating components of a meth lab being found in a room of a motel room early Wednesday, Lt. Joey Crosby said.

No one was hurt and no one was in custody at 2 p.m. Wednesday, but detectives continued to investigate the incident, he said.

Officers were called about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday to the 300 block of North Ocean Boulevard where they found components of a methamphetamine lab, but not an active lab, Crosby said.

Because of the components there, officials are using caution to dispose of the chemicals properly so it is not a danger to the community, Crosby said. Officers remained at the scene at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
