Police called after more than $5,000 in values taken during home break-in

A woman came home to find more than $5,000 worth of values had been taken during a burglary, according to a police report.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 1:55 p.m. Tuesday to a home on the 700th block of 48th Avenue North where a woman, whose age was not listed in the report, told police she when got home her valuables were gone, authorities said.

The woman said her laptop computer, televisions, jewelry, Xbox gaming console, iPad device, and camera, with a total value of about $6,800, were missing, according to the report.

The woman said she knew she left the door locked, but couldn’t remember if it was unlocked when she came home.

Police noted that a sliding glass door was unlocked, and the victim told authorities the sliding glass door is never open and hadn’t been used in months.

Crime scene investigators were called to the home to look for clues as to who the suspect or suspects could be.

No arrests were made in connection to the incident as of Wednesday morning.
