Man reports armed robbery in Myrtle Beach, knife put to his throat
“Let me get that money,” a suspect said as he took a man’s debit card from his wallet then put a knife to his throat and demanded the personal identification number, according to a Myrtle Beach police report.
The 64-year-old male victim told police the suspect also said he would kill him if he didn’t tell the suspect his PIN while the knife was up to his throat, police said.
Officers were called about 10:35 p.m. Sunday to the 500th block of Ninth Avenue North where the victim said the suspect came up and robbed him while he was just sitting there, authorities said.
The victim said he told the suspect his PIN and the suspect ran off to use an ATM near Ocean Boulevard, according to the report.
The victim said the suspect came back a short time later, threw the card at him, and told him he owed him money, then left the area on a bicycle headed toward Ninth Avenue North and Oak Street, police said.
The victim also told police the same suspect took a $100 from him last week in another incident, police said.
Police are investigating, and arrests had not been had in connection with the incident as of Tuesday morning.
