A Florence man was arrested Thursday following reports of gunfire that occurred in Myrtle Beach last week.

Darnell Antonio Richardson, 38, has been charged with first-degree assault and battery and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a felon. Richardson was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a Facebook post from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Officers responded to 1000 South Ocean Boulevard just before 5:30 a.m. on June 12 in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. The department’s early investigation found that one round had been fired.

Richardson and the victim were arguing at the Bar Harbor Hotel before Richardson allegedly discharged a firearm, firing one round in the direction of the victim, according to the post.

No injuries were reported.
