Myrtle Beach woman arrested in shooting that injured one person

A Myrtle Beach woman has been arrested following a shooting Thursday that occurred just south of Broadway at the Beach.

Meshelle Janiel Johnson, 46, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.

Officers with Myrtle Beach Police Department responded to 2005 Greens Blvd. just before 3:30 p.m. June 4, 2026, in reference to a shooting incident in a housing unit. One person had sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital, the department said in a Facebook post.

Myrtle Beach Police later announced that it had detained one person, Johnson, in connection to the shooting.

It’s still unclear what led to the shooting.
