Man allegedly assaulted 13-year-old at House of Blues, police report says
A 38-year-old Darlington man has been arrested by North Myrtle Beach Police after he told officers he assaulted a 13-year-old boy at live music venue House of Blues.
The man, James Turbeville, was arrested by officers Saturday night and charged with public intoxication and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, who is between 11-14 years old.
The House of Blues did not immediately respond to The Sun News’ request for comment.
Officers were already at the House of Blues when the assault occurred, according to a police report. The boy’s mom reported the assault to the officers and told them that Turbeville “forcibly” assaulted the boy, telling him “he had a cute butt.”
Officers then escorted Turbeville to the patio area of House of Blues where he was placed under arrest. He told officers during this time that he had assaulted the boy after he stood up in front of Turbeville, according to the report.
Officers also noted in the report that Turbeville appeared to be “visibly intoxicated.”
