A person in a Myrtle Beach Target dressing room was the victim of a peeping Tom, who was allegedly using a cellphone to record her underneath the partition.

Michael Anthony Aber, 25, of Myrtle Beach, has been charged with one count of Peeping Tom, according to a Facebook post from the Myrtle Beach Police.

Officers responded to 1150 Seaboard St. on May 6, 2026, in reference to a reported peeping Tom incident.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated that while inside a dressing room, they observed a cellphone being held underneath the partition, the post said. The victim believed the device was being used to record or photograph them. After the victim yelled, the suspect fled the scene.

Officers obtained video footage of the suspect leaving the store. The following day, the suspect returned to the same location and was identified by Myrtle Beach Police officers, the post said. Investigators were able to match the suspect’s previous booking photo to surveillance images captured during the initial incident.

Aber was charged with indecent exposure on May 3, 2026, in an unrelated incident.

Both victims were minors.

Based on the investigation, officers determined there was probable cause to charge the suspect after he allegedly used a device capable of recording video, audio, and photographs to invade the victim’s privacy in an area where privacy was reasonably expected, the post said.

Aber was taken into custody Thursday by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force, Horry County Police Department and Myrtle Beach Police Department.
