A Loris, South Carolina, woman was fatally shot Tuesday night while driving near Log Cabin Road and Powell Lane.

Shortly before 8 p.m., 21-year-old Frediqua Grate hit a utility pole with her car after being shot while driving, according to an email from Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard.

According to police, another person was also shot, and a third was otherwise injured in the incident. Horry County public information director Thomas Bell said one of the victims was a child, but it’s unclear whether the child was hurt by gunfire.

“Upon arrival, several victims were located on scene with apparent gunshot wounds,” the police incident report says.

Horry County Police officers closed off the Log Cabin Road area for several hours Tuesday night and determined the shooting was an isolated incident.

The police incident report lists two offenses in the ongoing investigation, aggravated assault as well as murder and nonnegligent manslaughter.

It doesn’t appear anyone has been arrested in the case.
