The two men are accused of having sexual intercourse with a woman while she was in an intoxicated and incapacitated condition, rendering her unable to knowingly and voluntarily consent to the sexual activity, a Conway Police arrest warrant said. It is unclear from the warrant if each man assaulted the same victim.

The assault allegedly occurred at Coastal Carolina University’s off campus housing, The Arch Apartments along Highway 544, on March 14, 2026, the report said. Conway officers had been notified of the assault by CCU Public Safety officers, the report said.

Beadle, from Columbia, who was a guard for CCU during the 2025-26 season. Peat, from Alexandria, Jamaica, was a forward/center for the team.

Both men are listed as graduate students on the CCU roster. The university confirmed that the two men are current students.

In an emailed statement, the university said it was aware that the two students were taken into custody by the City of Conway Police Department in connection with an off-campus incident alleged to have occurred on or about March 15.

There is no threat to members of the campus community, the statement said.

As with any alleged violations of the University’s Code of Student Conduct, the University will proceed through the appropriate student conduct process.

Beadle was the Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year and was named first-team all-conference earlier this month. He averaged a team-high 17.8 points per game for the Chanticleers, who finished 19-13 this season.

Beadle played high school basketball at Cardinal Newman in Columbia and started his college career at Clemson, where he played three seasons from 2021-24. Beadle also played at Boston College. This was his final season of eligibility.

Peat was also in his first season at CCU. He previously played five combined seasons at New Mexico Military Institute and Hawaii-Hilo.

Both Beadle and Peat remain in J. Rueben Long Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
