Myrtle Beach man arrested for deadly assault. He was found by U.S. marshals
A 43-year-old Myrtle Beach man has been arrested for a deadly assault that occurred at a city home on Sunday.
Corey Anthony Stephens was taken into custody on Monday by members of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a Facebook post by the Myrtle Beach Police.
Stephens’ charges were not listed, but information released said that he was wanted for murder.
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 6 a.m., Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to a home at 541 Ramsey Drive in reference to an assault. One person was found with serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he died from his injuries, the post said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Officers identified Stephens as the person responsible. Investigators learned that Stephens and the victim knew each other, and the assault appears to be an isolated incident, the post said.
Further details about the incident have not been released.
Stephens had been booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center previously on drug charges, financial identify fraud and resisting arrest. He was released on bond on Feb. 24, 2026, according to online booking records.
