A podcaster and writer has plans to bring a new attraction to Myrtle Beach: A museum focused on all things true crime.

Phil Chalmers, an American criminal profiler of over 40 years, a true crime writer and host of the “Where the Bodies are Buried” podcast, announced his plans for the museum online Sunday.

Chalmers’ team did not immediately respond for comment.

With a targeted opening on Memorial Day weekend, the museum will offer an educational experience on serial killers and true crime, according to Chalmers’ announcement. Visitors could even meet a special guest who witnessed a serial killer firsthand.

It is unclear where the museum will be located.

The museum will house a true crime store as well as true crime artifacts that guests can peruse and learn about.

“Think the glasses Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested in, a clown mask from inside John Wayne Gacy’s house, or jewelry from Ed Gein’s farmhouse,” Chalmers wrote in his announcement.

Chalmers will also be hosting live true crime shows at the museum “most nights of the week,” which he likens to the TV show “Mindhunter,” in which two FBI agents attempt to understand and catch serial killers by studying their psyches.

On the museum’s opening weekend, the museum will host Kathy Kleiner, who survived the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy, the announcement says.
